Duncan McCallum

Duncan has over 35 years of experience in the heritage sector and is currently Chair of The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, as well undertaking other heritage projects. After studying planning and building conservation at Newcastle and York Universities he undertook a variety of local authority planning and heritage roles across England. He worked for more than 25 years at English Heritage (later Historic England), 17 of them as a Director. He is particularly interested in celebrating the important part heritage plays in ensuring sustainable and vibrant communities.
