The project is a commendable use of a publicly owned site to deliver the following:
- Much needed high quality new homes in Lewisham;
- A range of additional benefits for the local community including a new surgery, community facilities and publicly accessible gardens;
- Provide an exemplar private rented development that can be held up as best practice by the council in a borough where 25% of the residents currently rent privately;
- Provide longer-term tenancies to give greater stability to renters;
- Provide a high quality property management and maintenance service;
- Provide properties which are let at affordable rents linked to local incomes.
