Mulberry Place, Daventry

Marchini Curran Planning for Daventry District Council, Willmott Dixon Construction and Marchini Curran Associates

Submission summary: Mulberry Place represents the realisation of a scheme first conceived over 15 years ago, when the site was identified in the Daventry Town Centre Vision as key for securing the rejuvenation of the town, particularly the historic town centre. It now comprises a cinema complex, restaurants and public square on the site of the former Daventry Library (which has been relocated into an underutilised Council facility on a nearby site). Viability issues prevented private sector delivery and so the Council took the bold decision to deliver the scheme itself, ensuring that this much-needed catalyst for regeneration was brought to fruition.
