Romford Town Centre Masterplan Engagement

MAKE:GOOD for Havering Council


Submission summary: A new Romford Town Centre Masterplan needed excellent reach, engagement and understanding; as a Supplementary Planning Document, local buy-in and support was key. To achieve this, we, as design team members with Maccreanor Lavington, created a visually strong campaign with clear communication and custom engagement, providing a brilliant example of demystifying the planning process.

Over seven months, we held 16 public events, pop-ups, workshops and exhibitions, and met 53 local organisations. This representative reach and conversation has led to genuine understanding of place and potential from a local perspective, as well as helping to generate positive mood & momentum for the future of Romford.
