‘Southmead regeneration – working for the community’ project

Nash Partnership and Streets Reimagined

Submission Summary: One of the UK’s largest community-led placemaking projects in one of the UK’s 10% most deprived wards. This people-led project will regenerate the centre of Southmead (Bristol) by making it vibrant and exciting for residents while addressing the need for smaller homes for first-time buyers/older people.
Influenced heavily by resident input, the team developed a masterplan and detailed designs that will deliver lasting change. The wider masterplan involves building on under-used open space and council-owned sites to deliver c.300 new homes and local facilities (community centre, library, youth centre and healthy living centre) to address current challenges facing residents.
