Submission summary: The Guidelines is a proactive initiative which places planning at the forefront of delivering real change delivering better environmental conditions to the public realm. Instead of being passive or reactive, the initiative demonstrates how a public planning authority can lead in delivering industry wide improvement in the quality and technological rigour of Wind assessments and modelling which will deliver wide-ranging and long-lasting benefits to the public realm benefiting all in society. This ground-breaking initiative has UK wide significance, is openly shared with other UK authorities as well as international Cities, where the work is considered to be a global exemplar
