
Duncan McCallum

Duncan is Chair of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and has 40 years of experience in the planning and heritage sectors. He studied planning and building conservation at Newcastle and York Universities and undertook a variety of heritage roles across England in local authorities. He joined English Heritage in 1996, later moving to Historic England. His final role there until 2022 was as Strategy and Listing Director. He now devotes his time to assorted, largely heritage, good causes.
