Executive summary from entrant:

Albert Jacob House, a new mixed-use scheme for Tower Hamlets Council, is part of the council’s own home-building programme and the delivery of council homes for rent. The project provides 53 much-needed affordable (social rent) homes, and five commercial units for local businesses. Over half the new housing is three and four bedroomed, addressing the acute need for family accommodation. A transformation of the quality of the public realm at street level that benefits new and existing neighbouring residents, including new play spaces for neighbouring estates. An example of how ambitious housebuilding also contributes to great placemaking
