Better Queensway (BQ)

Better Queensway is one of Southend-on-Sea’s most ambitious regeneration schemes which meets the borough’s ambitions of ‘Southend 2050’. It will renew the physical and environmental quality of the Queensway estate and a dated highway system, whilst enhancing the economic and social wellbeing of its community. The £500 million investment will provide up to 1,760 new homes, including 512 genuinely affordable homes, up to 10,000 sq. m. of commercial space, a new community concierge, local training and employment opportunities and more public realm and green space. A safer highway design, new cycle routes and pathways will improve connectivity throughout the site.
