The GNGIS is an evidence-led, cross-boundary vision to embed nature at the heart of growth. 35+ organisations and over 1,000 public responses have fed into the strategy, prioritising health, biodiversity and climate resilience. It is progressing as an SPD and will integrate GI into statutory planning policy across 3 district areas through Greater Norwich’s partnership processes. Implementation of the Strategy is underway as a GNGB initiative: £1.5m CIL funding allocated, 10 projects live, and innovative digital tools launched. The strategy demonstrates planning leadership, collaboration and innovation; creating a benchmark for delivering growth, while protecting and delivering thriving, sustainable, nature-rich places.
