The Liveable Water Lane SPD has been prepared by Exeter City Council and LDA Design to shape and drive forwards the redevelopment of a key strategic brownfield redevelopment area in the city. Through the SPD, Water Lane will become Exeter’s flagship low carbon, low car neighbourhood of 2,200 homes, regenerated to mitigate against and adapt to the climate and nature emergencies. Informed by extensive community and stakeholder engagement and technical work, the SPD provides a development framework and design code that comprehensively address complex site constraints and economic and social barriers, delivers biodiversity and heritage enhancements and promotes inclusivity.
