Executive summary from entrant:

Mayfield is a unique place setting an international benchmark for sustainable urban regeneration. Transforming 24-acres of derelict brownfield land beside Piccadilly Station, it is delivering meaningful economic, environmental and social impact in Manchester city centre. Over half the neighbourhood will become a lush, biodiverse park with the river Medlock at its heart. The green city district will embrace heritage assets and integrate places to work and live. With a park and culture first strategy, Mayfield’s future-thinking approach will provide over 1,700 homes, 2.3m sq ft of offices, 200,000–300,000 sq ft of retail and leisure all within a 13 acre park.
