Plymouth City Council (PCC) partnered with Urban Intelligence (UI) to modernise their sites assessment process as work begins on their new Local Plan. PCC officers used UI’s PlaceMaker to assess potential development sites across Plymouth to inform a proactive response to the national housing delivery challenge presented by the Government, for the creation of Local Plans within the new planning system. PCC co-developed new data visualisation features with UI, to analyse, map, compare, iterate and present trade-offs associated with strategic development options for the city. This new digital led approach will underpin PCC’s creation of a new style Local Plan.
