Executive summary from entrant:City Planning is committed to transform the Square Mile into a healthier, gentler, cleaner, more equitable and inclusive City. Improving active travel, walking and wheeling by increasing pedestrian routes through planning permissions is key in accommodating a growing working population exceeding 680,000. Through delivering 10 new pedestrian routes in planning permissions in just 2025, City Planning is rapidly transforming the permeability of the City, easing pedestrian movement. This is creating a more walkable, connected, gentler, cleaner, sustainable, healthier, more humane City, revealing views of landmarks that surprises and enriches and re-introduces the historical urban-grain and lost alleys benefitting all communities
