St George’s is a transformative health led placemaking project for Tower Hamlets, integrating sport, culture, housing, heritage and public realm.

By combining a state-of-the-art leisure facility, social rented homes and the renewal of St George’s Gardens, it addresses multiple determinants of health—physical activity, mental wellbeing, social cohesion, and housing quality—within a single scheme.

Facilities improve access through the flexible provision for all ages and inclusive programmes for women, older adults, and neurodiverse residents supporting active lifestyles and mental wellbeing.

This multi-layered approach creates an inclusive and sustainable place that strengthens both community and environment.
