Prepared in house by Enfield Council’s Urban Design Team, the Character of Growth Study provides a design led framework that underpins the Local Plan’s site capacities, densities, building heights and locations for tall buildings. It applies a character and typology based approach to guide how growth can respond positively to local context, ensuring development enhances townscape quality while optimising capacity. The study is already influencing development management decisions, enabling higher quality, better designed schemes and creating clear prospects for design led improvement across Enfield’s diverse character areas.
