Town Legal as planning law advisers on Offshore Wind Leasing Round 4

Town Legal

We advised The Crown Estate on compliance with its duties under the Habitats Regulations in relation to Offshore Wind Leasing Round 4, which is critically important to the UK's energy security policy and climate change targets. The HRA considered several large projects across extensive areas of seabed with potential impacts on multiple, sensitive marine and coastal habitats. Our work required an understanding of large quantities of technical environmental information, an appreciation of the limitations of assessment in the absence of detailed design, an understanding of the interests of different stakeholders and a practical approach to a complex area of law.
