This council led project should win for its holistic approach to regeneration on West Wickham’s High Street that provides social housing and an enhanced library that serves the community as a cultural hub. The new entrance pavilion Café opens up the library with an active frontage to a public square. A car park behind the library was redeveloped into a mews providing 26 social homes. The immediate vicinity to the High Street allows residents easy access to facilities and participation in community activities. Decorative elements to the facades enhance this public building relating to the history of West Wickham.
