Matthew is a chartered Town Planner with 19 years' experience in planning. He joined Bristol Airport as Planning Manager in 2022 where he is assisting the Airport deliver their ambitious plans for growth and decarbonisation. Prior to this, he was Development Services Manager at Newport City Council, ensuring the efficient running of the planning service and overseeing the determination of a large number of development and regeneration schemes. He was also responsible for the delivery and adoption of the Newport Local Development Plan. Matthew began his career as a Planning and Transport Graduate Trainee at Cambridgeshire County Council and worked his way up to Principal Planner, working on a variety of major new developments including Northstowe new town and the Cambridge Southern Fringe urban extension. Therefore, Matthew has a wide range of experience, primarily gained in local government in both England and Wales.
