Rowan Cole

Rowan is a planning communications and stakeholder engagement specialist working across regeneration, planning and local government. He began his career as an elected councillor and now advises developers, local authorities and investors on complex schemes where political insight and governance conditions are critical to securing deliverable planning decisions.

As Founder of COALFACE, Rowan leads planning consultations for major regeneration projects and supports Local Planning Authorities on Local Plan engagement and wider governance reviews. His recent work has focused on the implications of Local Government Reorganisation and financial stress on planning performance and programme risk. Alongside his consultancy work, Rowan is a Member of the Institute of Directors and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and has previously judged the British Homes Awards.
